Dow futures surge beyond 170 points to start May
During early morning trading on Monday, U.S. stock futures advanced as investors were getting ready to
the first trading day of the new month.
Dow futures added 171 points. S&P 500 futures soared 0.4% and Nasdaq 100 futures jumped 0.1%.
As reported by CNBC, Berkshire Hathaway shares went up 1% in early trading following Warren Buffett’s
conglomerate reported a 20% jump in operating earnings and kept purchasing back a bulk of its own
shares. Buffett also told CNBC that in his absence, Greg Abel, vice chairman of all non-insurance
operations, will be in charge after him.
