European markets close on a positive note

The pan-European Stoxx 600 ended the day closing 0.7% provisionally, with basic resources surging 3.9% to be in the front as most sectors and major bourses were showcasing positive movements.Meanwhile in the US, stocks dropped while traders were worrying over the rising number of Covid-19 infections across the globeAccording to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University, more than 20 million Covid-19 cases have been confirmed in the U.S. Among the said cases, several cases of a new coronavirus strain have also been reported across the country.Globally, cases have gone beyond 85 million cases.
