Samsung made weapons?

Currently known as Hanwha Techwin, it was initially founded as Samsung Precision back in 1977. Samsung Precision started manufacturing weaponry after changing its name to Samsung Aerospace Industries in 1987. Samsung Aerospace employed over 8,500 people and started manufacturing helicopters, jet engines, and also, mobile artillery for the Korean army, and handed its aircraft business to Korea Aerospace Industries giving birth to Samsung Techwin in 2000. Samsung Techwin created a powerful weapon known as “K9 Thunder” and later, it ranked top in Korean digital cameras market share in 2005. Later, it became Hanwha Techwin after Samsung Electronics announced the sale of Samsung Techwin to Hanwha Group. According to Investing.com, Hanwha Techwin’s revenues increased by 28% to W954.84B. Also, the company is expecting to accomplish a revenue stream equivalent to €7.7bn in annual sales by 2025.
As for Samsung, it is flourishing as a strong brand, and in the first quarter of 2019, Samsung Electronics recorded revenues of around 46 billion U.S. dollars, and as of now, it has a share value of 44,200 KRW.
